The Racism Myth

The Left has exploded into rage after a landmark report into racism found there was no institutional racism in the United Kingdom. The independent study which was produced by a group of twelve experts (only one of whom was white) found rather than being held back because of racism, black people often had only themselves to blame. What with their fatalistic narratives, victim status mentality and, of course, their almost innate desire to blame the Government and the State for their circumstances. In other words the lives of many black people would be improved if they worked harder at school and got off their backsides and got a job - rather than flashing about knives whilst listening to rap music, selling drugs while driving flash cars on council estates, or trying to pass off counterfeit money because they have blown all of their welfare money on booze, gambling and cigarettes.

Did you know that for every white murder victim (aged 16 to 24) there were 24 black victims? No. Neither did I. And before you say it, the 24 black victims were not murdered by whites. Not only that but black men are eight times more likely to be arrested for drug offence than white men. With much higher rates of Class B drug offences amongst those from ethnic minorities. The study also found that those from ethnic minorities were more likely to be racist against others from other ethnic minority backgrounds. With blacks joining the military often viewed as traitors, betrayers and other more unpleasant terms which can't be repeated here.

The Sewell Report found black people in the United Kingdom are far less likely to encounter racial abuse than in other countries. Especially in other so-called "more enlightened countries" within the European Union. Indeed a study in 2019 revealed 21% of black respondents had experienced racial harassment in the United Kingdom. The second lowest figure in the European Union. Not all the disadvantages ethnic minorities face should be seen through the prism of racism, the report added. "Impediments and disparities do exist. They are varied and very few of them have anything to do with racism. The evidence shows geography, family influence, socio-economic background, culture and religion have more significant impact on life chances than the existence of racism." The report added that there wasn't any real or hard evidence of institutional racism in Old Blighty, and that some communities were simply haunted by historic racism. There was even a great reluctance among ethnic minorities to acknowledge the United Kingdom had become more open and fairer. For when it came to racism in Britain, it was more of a perception than a reality. Especially among ethnic minorities themselves. Britain, the report emphasized continually, was no longer a country where the entire system is deliberately rigged against the ethnic minorities.

While racial background does have a big impact on life chances, this largely happened because black people (like a lot of white working-class people) had messed their lives up. There problems are caused not by racism but by themselves, their family background, and their own attitudinal problem. For example, two thirds of black Caribbean children grow up in single parent homes with an increased likelihood of welfare dependency and poverty. The report said: "In many areas of our investigation, including educational failure and crime, we found family breakdown is one of the main reasons causing this. Family is the foundation stone of success." Not only was unemployment far higher for such children, but ethnic minorities were far less likely to own their own home too. As for unemployment the figures were also stark. In 2019 employment rates for whites was 77% but for blacks it was just 69%. For Asians it fell back to 56% not because of racism, but because so many women of Pakistan and Bangladesh origin prefer to stay at home on welfare benefits. Presuming their husbands are not out working as taxi drivers or as shop assistants. Interestingly children from ethnic minority families have better outcomes at school and university than the white working-class. This is because Socialist councils tend to pump more money into those schools in deprived areas where ethnic minority children attend. White flight is also a problem here with the white working-class often fleeing such schools, not out of racism, but out of a desire for their children to be taught in a school where English is the first language - not the fifteenth. The report also blasted companies for banging on about unconscious bias training, which is also so beloved by that vain narcissist hypocrite Prince Harry. As some unkind soul might call him. "We are not impressed by unconscious bias training as proof of progressive credentials. We were impressed by more conscious attempts to foster talent from a wide range of backgrounds," the report stated. Like giving them an actual job for instance rather than talking a lot of, well, you know - the usual middle-class claptrap.

The po-faced Left reacted with fury and rage to the report brandishing it a "whitewash". Oh dear. What a most unfortunate phrase. Isn't it racist to use the term whitewash now? What will your local Labour council say! Indeed after Brexit we all know what these middle-class Lefties really think about those who live on council estates. Whether they be black or white they are all truly united and equal in one way - in being "the thick and uneducated plebs" who voted for Brexit. Indeed Labour, which recently announced it would be giving all arriving immigrants the vote and a selection of welfare benefits if it wins the next General Election, reacted with the usual venom. David Lammy cried foul: "Black Britons won't be gas lighted. The report is an insult to anyone who has experienced structural racism. Same old Tories." The independent report's authors were even accused of putting "a positive spin on slavery" by those on the Hard Left, after the study called on schools to use history lessons to "tell the multiple, nuanced stories of the contributions made by different groups that have made this country the one it is today". The report's Foreword stated: "There is a new story to be told about the slave period and about how the culturally African people transformed themselves into proud African British." But Halima Begum, of Hard Left race equality think-tank The Runnymede Trust, reacted with rage and anger to the Foreword saying: "I'm absolutely flabbergasted to see the slave trade apparently redefined as The Caribbean Experience. As though it is something Thomas Cook should be selling. A one-way shackled cruise trip to purgatory. The cultural deafness of this report is quite clear." Yes dear. Sabby Dhalu of the tiresome and dated pressure group Stand Up To Racism said: "Suggesting Britain should be regarded as a model for other white majority countries is an insult to all those who lost their lives to racism." However Conservative Chancellor Rishi Sunak declared: "If I think about the things that happened to me when I was a kid, I cannot imagine these things happening to me in modern caring Britain." And Duwayne Brooks, a close friend of Stephen Lawrence agreed, went further saying: "What the report is doing is comparing life for the ethnic minorities in Britain, in comparison to the European Union countries, where life is much, much worse. It is not as simple as saying black people in Britain cannot get jobs because they are black. This is what people want the report to say. Sadly for them it don't."

Dr Tony Sewell has since accused lobby groups who dismissed his report as "hating black success". He said: "Some groups feel they can tell black people how to be black and in effect are indulging in a form of racism themselves."

Dr Sewell also took aim at universities.

He added: "I thought the work of a university was to deal with complex issues. But universities today are more like The Soviet Union. There is no free speech."
